With the warmer weather, we know many people are opening doors and windows to keep their homes cool — but please remember to stay security aware.

🔒 An open window or unlocked door can be an easy opportunity for opportunistic thieves.

Here are a few simple steps to help protect your home:

✅ Keep doors locked, even if you are at home or just in the garden
✅ Ensure windows are secure, especially on the ground floor or where they are easily accessible
✅ Avoid leaving valuables (phones, wallets, car keys) near open windows or in plain sight
✅ Use window restrictors where possible, particularly overnight or when you're not in the room
✅ Lock all doors and windows before going to bed or leaving the house

👀 Remember: Most burglaries are opportunistic — a quick check of a door handle or an open window is often all it takes.

Stay safe, enjoy the sunshine, and don’t make it easy for criminals.
